THE PIER
THE PIER
14X14 oil on canvas
With the sun beginning its decent and the light of the day melting into and became one with the sea, one could hear the music from the rids softly being interrupted by the sounds of waves lapping at the shore.

"IN SHADE"
IN SHADE
6X6 oil on wood panel
It was still early morning and 90 degrees;
I wondered what the rest of the day was going to be. I could ponder this
question till the end of the day and no-mater what I would come up with, it
would mater not. Like so many things in life we have no say, it's all
what you do with at that given moment.
To cold, put a sweater on, to hot take it off. So... I took in a nice
deep breath of fresh air, walked over to this beautiful tree, and sat in its
shade and dreamed of dreams.

So having to get out of town, I thought, why not get up early and do a blast out to the desert, maybe stop at the "Blue Fox" and grab some chorizo & egg's, hot coffee and see some galleries. Agreeing with myself, popped out of bed, hosed myself off and headed out to the infamies morning palm springs run..

"SOUND of SILENCE"
SOUND of SILENCE
6x6" oil on wood panel
We walked for some time talking about this and that and without realizing, we began to speak softly, soon we stopped all together, words where not necessary nor did we want to disturb all that surrounded us; The gurgling of the streams, the songs of the birds, rustling of the fall leaves was all that was needed for the sound of silence. APPROACHING
APPROACHING
6X6 oil on panel
It was up north on a cloudy weekend when I spotted this meadow of deep burnt umber's mixed with golden shades. All supporting a gathering of rumbling clouds and the approach of rains to come. Yet unfazed, the grazing went on without a care, I thought to myself, could I do that, could I be unfazed by what might be approaching. (SOLD)

HOMEWARD
"HOMEWARD"
6X6" oil on panel
Heading south trying to catch the sun as it slowly sinks behind the clouds and eventually giving way to night my mind drifts to all that has taken place. Like the setting sun and the beginning of the new day that will fallow, I too look forward to new beginnings as well, I do indeed

BRACKISH WATERS
BRACKISH WATERS
6x6" oil on panel
The sun was setting as I raced to find parking in order to find parking and walk down to the water. This place is back-bay in Newport Beach with up scale homes that surround this most beautiful place. I had to sneak in just to get the shot. There is a price to see beauty, a price to see brackish water.

PARTY LINE
"PARTY LINE"
6X6" oil on panel
At one time way before tweeting, texting, deleting, Instagram, streaming, blogging and, and, and.... There were "telephones", some with long tangled wires, some had, if you got fancy the curly wire at the end of your receiver that one had to wipe down from sticky hands.
Well! at that time, while talking on your "telephone" you would realize you where not alone... It was the age of saying to a total stranger, "Sorry", "Can you hang up now!" or "I was talking first". Ah Yes!... The "Party Line".
FIRST DAY
(Sold) "FIRST DAY"
6X6 oil on panel
It was early morning and still dark and yet! like clockwork, one can hear the school bus rumbling somewhere in the neighborhood. It was the signal of the end of summer and the beginning of a school year. There were going to be new friends, teachers, games and a new beginning to that very first day.

"STOP!"
"STOP!"
6x6 oil on panel
With the evening approaching the sky bathed everything with a soft pinkish glow. I found myself a place to eat, grabbed a room and settled in.
"SNOWBOUND"
"SNOWBOUND"
6X6 oil on panel
Not sure of how much further I could go, I pulled I finely found a motel and was just able to park and check-in. With the trip coming to a stop I turned to look out of the lobby window I thought, "WOW!" I'm without a doubt "Snowbound"

"PROPERTY LINE"
"PROPERTY LINE"
6x6" oil on panel
I
had just turned the corner with my mind swirling with ideas of things to paint. The snow had not melted from the night before
and the morning sun was just showing its colors, illuminating the trees. This is what I wanted to see. One click with my iPhone and a new painting
will soon make its way to reality.

"A TRAVELER"
"A TRAVELER"
6x6 oil on panel
I stood and felt the warmth of the
setting sun on my back. The grove of trees lie ahead and from where I
was standing couldn't see much further. Like my life, I wondered what was beyond. I knew both are parallel to each other and in time, all will be revealed,
but for now; it is a conundrum. After all… I am only a traveler. (SOLD)

"matineee at 7
"Matinee at 7" oil 30x30
The sun was inching its way closer to the earth with the clouds rushing away in slow motion.
Standing in the middle of the street I watched the knight come into its own. Soon the movie would start, people already inside are missing the best show, and its free, its all free.

New Painting
"STICKS&STONES"
24X24 oil on canvas
This painting was from a photograph from a great dentist friend who does some crazy mountain biking and takes great photos.... This was a big storm that rolled through AZ.
The stones are a photo from my Sons lady friend in Minnesota. In other words, two people where kind enough to allow me to use my skills and combine both scenes in order to create this painting.

"MORNING HAZE"
"MORNING HAZE"
24x24 oil on canvas
With morning haze giving a soft focus to the sky and sea where they meet became a metaphor of my journey. The pursuit in searching for other ways of talking about subjects such as skies, waves, land or even objects is an interesting journey to say the least. I must satisfy myself above all and I must appeal to an audience that is for the most part not familiar with what art is. This is where the lines blur for I recognize my audience is small and yet when that one stops and gets what I am trying to say my journey is clear and the horizon comes into focus.

"MONDAY BLUES"
"MONDAY BLUES"
6X6inch oil on wood
A few weeks ago we had a great needed downpour. All the dust was washed away, all plants got a good drink, the air is clearer. All this is good, BUT! For me it meant running around with my iPhone taking pictures for my rain series.. This petites oeuvres d' art that you see just might become a large canvas.... There is more to come so stay tuned.. "MAGIC"
"MAGIC"
6x6" oil on wood
With the moon so full and a blue moon at that I had no choice but to paint the glare of it.
As many times as I have looked up at this glowing ball it still brings a smile and a Wow! that crosses my lips. The simple beauty that it gives us all is immeasurable. Every child looks and points to it. The moon is magic, for when we stop to marvel, all troubles and negative thoughts vanish and for a brief moment we are one with all..

"LISTEN"
"LISTEN"
oil on wood 6X6"
This is a little back off the main body of the lake. We would shut the engine and drifted in in silence into these quiet spots. Ether he or I would say quietly "Listen" and there was nothing, no sound, not even birds. It was a place where I learned how to bass fish with one of the best. He new just where to cast his line and seconds later, he would pull his rod up and reel in a bass... I was always in awe and this same guy taught me the art of bass fishing. (Sold)

"NEIGHBORS"
"NEIGHBORS"
6X6" oil on wood
Not looking over the fence, I wonder who is living there. Every now and then I would hear voices, music coming from the house, smell the barbeque and hear the clap, clap of the occasional backdoor screen shutting, then silence. At times the house was dark for weeks. Then, lights, and familiar voices come filtering through the fence and... they are home again. It was just one of those times. I was in my yard quietly reading a book listening to the chatter from next door when I was startled to hear from over the fence;
Hi Neighbor!
