WHISPERS

                                                         WHISPERS
                                                       6x6inch oil on panel
The intimacy of whispering is a special moment.  It is in itself a moment of privacy, confidentiality and above all trust.  Even when no one is about, the voice is at a whisper, I must say with so much shouting the whisper is so beautiful not to hear.

With a light mist and a chill in the air, I walked out and didn't look back.  it was time for a fresh start, new beginnings, big plans, so what if it ended, that's life, excuse me for a sec, I seem to have something in my eye.

                                                                RED UMBRELLA
                                                          6X6 oil on panel

It was 4:30 in the afternoon and the 5-month romance was over.  I grabbed an umbrella, heading out the door.   The light rain was refreshing as it washed away all making way for a clean slate.  Hello, new day.

With the rains gone and blue skies in the forecast I felt the need to paint raindrops.
This is from the last of the sprinkles that hit my car, but I must be clear, this is not the last of my raindrop series, far from it, I am planing on painting some new and improved rainy paintings.. Stay tuned to the posts.   (SOLD)

LOVERS & FRIENDS

                                                                LOVERS &FRIENDS
                                                           14X14 oil on canvas

It matters not as long as the friendship and love is real between the two.  How beautiful to see, and you know when you see it, you think to yourself "those two are in love."

THREE MOODS

                                                                        gossip

                                                                      no show

                                                                       waiting

                                                               THREE MOODS
each is 6x6 oil on wood panel

Just some of the moods we feel and most of the time, don't express.  We don't want to bother, we don't want to talk, we don't want to reveal.  We smile, we joke, laugh, talk loud, we hide, and like umbrellas we hold close protecting us from the rains.

"CLOSED"

                                                                          CLOSED
                                                          10X10 oil on canvas

So I deiced to take this back road and see where it takes me.  I had about an hour of sun left, getting little low on gas, looks like rain and the gas station is closed; what ells might be in store for me on this fine day.... Wait! are those flashing lights behind me?

DARK SKIES

                                                              DARK SKIES
                                                            6X6 oil on panel

Continuing my trip up North I was hoping to get to a motel or hotel before the sky opens up dumps.  Pulling off on the side of the road I got out of my car taking in the beauty that surrounded me before the dark skies take over and the rains begin.

New Painting

                                                       "STICKS&STONES"
                                                       24X24 oil on canvas

This painting was from a photograph from a great dentist friend who does some crazy mountain biking and takes great photos.... This was a big storm that rolled through AZ.
The stones are  a photo from my Sons lady friend in Minnesota.  In other words, two people where kind enough to allow me to use my skills and combine both scenes in order  to create this painting.

New Black & White

                                                        "RAINS COMING"
                                                         6X6" oil on wood

I sat at the end of the field and waited.  The sky got darker, the winds picked up and the smell of rain was in the air.  I got out of there just in time for a crazy downpour was crazier so reported on the news.   It took three photos to get what I felt was needed for this painting.  (Sold)

                                             "OPEN" 14X14 oil on canvas

I first posted this Jan7 2015 but since then and now knowing at that time, I just might not be finished with it.  And sure enough I was not tell now.  The changes I feel have made a big difference and now I can sign this painting and add it to the ongoing collection.

"L.A. BOUND"

                                        "L.A. BOUND" / UP CLOSE & PERSONAL

Funny how lost I got with ear-buds plugged into my head and wipers keeping in time to the music, made an hours drive seem like a blink.... I had to stop and think, did I run any lights, did I do anything foolish?  Coming up to the next stoplight gave me time to look out of my windshield and take in the rain and bright-lights. I love this kind of night.

This painting is 14x14x1.5" on canvas

"Long Beach"

                                                   "long beach" 14x14 oil

Continuing on the series "Up Close & Personal" this is yet another.  With the light diminishing setting at a stop light it was perfect.  One shot with my iPhone and I was on my way with another image to be painted.

"Santa Monica"

                                                     "santa monica" 14x14

This is one of an ongoing series of paintings about light, rain and what happens when camera focus's on just the drops of water.  For me it is a magical moment both to see and then paint.   Stay tuned for more.

"59 CADILLAC"

                                                       " See on YouTube"

A quick trip up North, camera at the ready, clicking away at this and that I found myself in an open field, staring at the clouds, feeling the soft breeze, listening to the buzz of insects in the tall grasses. Back in my studio I let my mind drift in and out of ideas of what to paint and after a time I knew. (Sold)

"MELROSE DRIZZLE"

It was just one of those nights, you know, drizzly kinda evening.  Actually it was a perfect time to go for a walk, meet some friends, have some good food, yes its a stop at "Lala's Argentine Grill".  LA is so crazy, got to love thought.  It is truly a melting pot of tastes...   (Sold)

"RAINING AGAIN"

Traveling on the 91 one late rainy afternoon.  Traffic slowing to a crawl, the glare of headlights, taillights, on and off brake-lights mixed with the pitter-patter background noise of it raining again.  Something in the back of my mind starts it's way up to full consciousness and.... a new painting comes to be...

This oil painting is on board mounted to a 8x6" wooden box:

"DODGING RAIN"

Dodging the rain that was beginning to come down was not easy.  It felt like the faster I ran the harder it rained so with blocks to go I slowed and walked at a good pace squinting with the rain in my face. I smiled to myself when spotting my hotel's entrance door just up ahead.   This painting is on a 6x6 inch wood panel mounted to a varnished wooden box with no framing required: (Sold)
