"A QUIET MEADOW"

                                                      A QUIET MEADOW
                                                        6X6 oil on panel

For me, I needed to just get away from the noise, people, sights and sounds of it all.  I have been in an amazing art show with great artists that I can talk with about what it is like to do what we do.  I play a card game with two wonderful artists and another I get to jab humor with along with great texting back and forth with.  But I still wanted to find a place to just get into me, so after a long hike I found a perfect little spot.  My very own quiet meadow to lie-down in and dream.

ETHEREAL MOMENT

                                                        ETHEREAL MOMENT
                                                           6x6" oil on panel

I had to return, I needed to be here, how could I not revisit this place of magic.  I'm not sure how long I just stood watching the shadows move across the ground, behind the trees and past and through me.   Time stopped and it was truly welcoming as I did not want this ethereal moment to end.  (SOLD)

This painting will be at this summers Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach CA

"RUMBLINGS"

                                                           "Rumblings"
                                                             40x20 oil

Standing off to the side of the road I could hear this rumbling sound that sounded like thunder and with each passing minute it was getting closer.  Looking around, I could not tell in which direction the sound was coming from.  Then, with a deep throaty groan I saw it and like a mighty dragon hugging the very ground it moved on, it showed all, who had the undisputed right of way.

This will be at this summers Laguna Festival of the Arts

"INNOCENCE"

                                                          "INNOCENCE"
                                                       oil on canvas 24x24

There was that time when life seamed so innocent.  I bike ride to no place in particular by ones self, sleep underneath tall eucalyptus without a care and watch clouds meandering overhead.   Even the possibility of rain, who cares!  It was a La Dee DA time, wasn't it?   Tell me it was.
This is what I wanted to capture.  I wanted to feel innocent again even for a moment.

This will be in this summers show in Laguna Beach CA

"LISTEN"

                                                              "LISTEN"
                                                          oil on wood 6X6"

This is a little back off the main body of the lake.  We would shut the engine and drifted in in silence into these quiet spots.  Ether he or I would say quietly "Listen" and there was nothing, no sound, not even birds.  It was a place where I learned how to bass fish with one of the best.  He new just where to cast his line and seconds later, he would pull his rod up and reel in a bass... I was always in awe  and this same guy taught me the art of bass fishing.  (Sold)

"BACK HOME"

Gosh! I'm trying to remember just when I took this little photo.  It was on one of the many trips back to California from AZ as I have family and friend's there.   I must have come across this amongst hundreds of photos about 5 dozen times over the years looking for something to paint, but this time I stopped to listen.  Funny how that happens, I wonder how many other photos have asked me to stop  that I ignored.   How many people I have done the same thing to, makes me stop and wonder.  We are so quick to choose to listen to the loudest when indeed there is much in a whisper.
This is an original 6x6"oil painting.  For interest in giving this a home send me an "Email" (Sold)

"New canvas"

These two photos are the beginning of a new canvas I have been working on for some time now..
The style is not my usual realistic madness that I love doing but a looser contemporary look and feel.   I normally don't sketch anything out and I don't usually have this coloring as an under-paint.  But, I must say I like the challenge of making so many changes while I am painting as I am usually so in control so this is a nice departure from the norm.   I am much further along with the painting, but I want to hopefully get some curiosity going.  This painting is on canvas, it's size is 36x40 in height... I need some time to study this one so for a time it's back to my 6x6" oils on wood.
