LUNA & DANDELIONS
LUNA & DANDELIONS
8x8inch oil on panel
Sometimes everything just works out. Art is such a crazy thing to have to do. I say have to, for if I'm not paintings, searching, and needing to paint I would go nuts. So for me, it's a lifeline to who I am. It is a great escape, it is my moment to get lost and explore the wonders a never-ending moment. I'm at home

SPRING
SPRING
6X6 oil on panel
A quiet place just 30 minutes away from where my son lives. A short walk off the road and one is lost in the beauty. It took some time for me to finally step back to reality and take a photo. The end result and a year later I finally finished my walk.

"GET-A-WAY"
"GET-A-WAY"
6x6 oil on panel
The need to get out 0of town and disappear at times really becomes overwhelming.
Well, not having a camper and all of the paraphernalia I became friends with campers. Told them I can cook some really great meals and this started a long relationship with me as the cook, and sometimes a driver. So this is in tribute to those days. my life took me in another direction and I'm sure they are still wondering the back trails of adventure.

SLOW MOVING
"SLOW FLOWING"
6X6 oil on panel
An Update on this painting... I just felt it wasn't finished, but now I can say it is.
In the quiet of the moment, I drifted down these waters seeing the sky above, the coolness of the waters, moving past and around stones, gently twilling in the stream without a care in the world. I was for a moment, moving slowly

FANTASY
FANTASY
6X6 oil on wood panel
Every now and then, it is good to step away from reality. We are slammed with to much info, at least that's how it appears to me. So when given the chance to depart from the madness I slipped effortlessly in a world of fantasy. I hope this calms you as it did me.

SLOW DOWN
SLOWING
6X6" oil on wood panel
With fall approaching and trees turning gold, it's a time when all seems to slow down even the water slowed enough to look like glass. So! I thought I would do the same and just slow down

"DREAM"
DREAM
6X6 oil on wood panel
Within the shadows of the trees the air was cool and quiet; I stopped to enjoy, knowing once the fog rolls in another kind of magic and story would take place, but! for now, I just want to listen to the silence and dream

"GROUND FOG "
GROUND FOG
6x6 oil on wood panel
The sky was a crystal clear blue with wisps of vale like clouds that moved to air currents up high. Because it was still so early the ground fog lingered preventing me from getting on the road anytime soon. It only took one photo and I knew I had another painting in the making.

DELICATE BALANCE
DELICATE BALANCE
6X6" oil on wood panel
Another painting of natures wonders. It is a delicate balancing act indeed. We are all part of it and privy to witness it when we stop long enough to look. I know, all that first read the title thought I was referencing the butterfly but I meant all that is in the painting, think on this a minute... I have painted water, rain, air for the plants and the butterfly is life. Pay attention to it...

"IN SHADE"
IN SHADE
6X6 oil on wood panel
It was still early morning and 90 degrees;
I wondered what the rest of the day was going to be. I could ponder this
question till the end of the day and no-mater what I would come up with, it
would mater not. Like so many things in life we have no say, it's all
what you do with at that given moment.
To cold, put a sweater on, to hot take it off. So... I took in a nice
deep breath of fresh air, walked over to this beautiful tree, and sat in its
shade and dreamed of dreams.

"SOUND of SILENCE"
SOUND of SILENCE
6x6" oil on wood panel
We walked for some time talking about this and that and without realizing, we began to speak softly, soon we stopped all together, words where not necessary nor did we want to disturb all that surrounded us; The gurgling of the streams, the songs of the birds, rustling of the fall leaves was all that was needed for the sound of silence. "MIRROR"
"MIRROR"
6X6inch oil on wood panel
It was mid-afternoon and I was on a walk
with my son and his daughter, (my grandchild]. It was a time to be quiet and
listen to the sounds of this most magical place. There was so much to see
that I felt I couldn't get enough to fill my eyes and mind. There where
things for me to paint with every turn of my head. So much beauty I
thought, "I will run out of time." Better get busy and
paint.... Here's the start of many more to come.

"RUMBLINGS"
"Rumblings"
40x20 oil
Standing off to the side of the road I
could hear this rumbling sound that sounded like thunder and with each passing
minute it was getting closer. Looking around, I could not tell in which
direction the sound was coming from. Then, with a deep throaty groan I
saw it and like a mighty dragon hugging the very ground it moved on, it showed
all, who had the undisputed right of way.
This will be at this summers Laguna Festival of the Arts

"SILENCE" landscape by gerald schwartz
How to paint stillness? This was my challenge in developing this painting. It was controlling the lights and dark's and to give endless depth. Lots going on in this little 6x6 inch oil painting.
It is on canvas mounted on Birch wood panel on a 1.5 inch deep varnished wooden box requiring not framing. This painting is in a show this week but you my buy it now and I'll ship it in one week. (SOLD)

"SUNSET & SHADOWS"
This painting is based on the close-up of one of my larger paintings I did for my up coming show this summer at Laguna Festival
You can see the original painting I took this section from if you go to Festival 2010
I painted this in oils much like I would a water color painting using lots of transparent colors giving a very soft feel to it. Being intrigued by the shadows and light flowing through the trees. made for a delightful journey for me. The size of this is 6x6 inches painted on Birch wood that has been mounted on a wooden box that I varnish. (Sold)
