TRAFFIC JAM

TRAFFIC JAM 8x8inch oil on panel

I have painted this once before as a 6x6inch oil about 8 years ago.  I rediscovered the photo and decided to do it again, what I found this time around is I got more involved in the color, I made the dark deeper in tone, its not black, oh I know how it looks it but, none to be found.  I started off with the light yellow sky and worked my way forward painting the rest all dark, then when dry the taillights began to emerge into TRAFFIC JAM.

FENCED IN

"FENCED IN"
oil on panel 8x8inch

The drive back to Los Angeles was slow. What began as a soft rain was the beginning of a downpour. With no place to stop, I just kept driving as the lightning made contact and the distant sound of thunder speeding me along.

Thanks to Eric Demarcq a photographer from Paris allowed to interpret his photograph.
I, not wanting to copy it, but use it as an inspiration that caught my attention.

"BIRDS ON THE WIRE"

                                                          MORNING BIRDS
                                                       6x6 oil on wood panel

It was early morning with the sun peeking over the clouds; life was stirring under roofs with coffee brewing, showers spraying, and people talking in whispers.  I on the other hand was on the road with what seemed the only life was the one car heading in my direction and the birds on the wire.   (SOLD)

"DAYDREAM"

                                                               "DAYDREAM"
                                                              6X6 oil on wood

Just a quiet spot, no one around, birds singing off in the distance, soothing sounds of water gently rolling of stones... Gosh! This is a great place to just lay-back and daydream the day a way.

"SCRAPBOOK SERIES"

                                                            "CONTEMPLATION "
                                                                14x14 oil on canvas

The name of this painting has so many meanings for me.  This place was a discovery, my direction on the never-ending hunt for what I want to say and how to do that is a discovery...  I must let go, for to hold on means I stay in one place and I won't do that;  So discovery is a new me and that spell's freedom.

"NO TRAFFIC"

"oil on wood size: 6x6x1.5 inch. get it now for $160 + s/h

Knowing this was going to be a wonderful sunset I pull off on the shoulder kicking up gravel and dust.   I shut the engine, get out of my van and head out about 50 yards into the darkening desert.   After a time I found a place to get this shot.  I knelt down using these two posts of what was left of a fence protecting a long forgotten covered up hole in the ground.  Anyway, they made for a nice composition for this crazy artist out on the highways.
Tell next time.  Catch ya on the way back.
