"FRANK'S"

                                                       FRANK'S LIQUOR
                                                         6x6 oil on panel

So, around 2am my are eyes open and I'm wide awake.  I walk over to the the fridge and it's empty, of course what else would it be.  See, I was just passing through this little town and thought I would stop at the first hotel and get some shut eye, but now I'm wide awake and  thinking,  a little nightcap would work.   I mosey over to the window and look out onto a darkened street and the one place that's open is "Frank's", lucky me!

This will be in this summers Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach CA

"SCRAPBOOK SEREIS"

                                                   "FRIENDS & LOVERS"
                                                      14x14 oil on canvas

I have thought about all the things that surround us and have found all things are in sets of two's.  For insistence; Night & Day, Light & Dark, Hot & Cold, Good & Yes you guessed it.. Bad. So you see where I am going with this and if you are like me, you will come up with so many more that it will make your head spin.  Thus, the title to my painting.  The two are sunōnumos with each or at least should be.   Being the romantic, I can't think of a better combo then Friends & Lovers.

"SUNSET & VINE"

One of the most iconic corners but on a rainy night, photographed in low light and low speed, it became just this wonderful abstraction of colored blurry lights moving through the night.  It was one shot as I had to start driving  thus ending the beeping from the person behind me...  When I got home and was able to see my handy work with camera, I new; it was time for a painting to begin.... This is a 40x34 oil on canvas and will be at the Laguna Arts Festival starting July 1 to Aug 30...

"THE LOUNGE"

New painting for this summers show.  I must say this was a labor of love to get it to work like I wanted.   Lots of transformations and many hours of studying just where to place all that is going on.
I worked from lots of photographs to give me the composition  in telling this story.
The painting is 36x36 inches oil on canvas.   This most likely will be shown in the opening night of the show...  I will be posting more in a few days.  Hope you enjoy.
