"LA PALMS & POLES"
So living in L.A. one begins to realize that slowly these poles are disappearing. More and more people are moving into the world of cable, satellite & cell phones... The telephone & electric poles I love to paint are going to leave me.... "sooo sad." But, I and I alone hunt deep into L.A.'s back alleys, old forgotten neighborhood's and dangerous places. Where few go I will venture, armed with my trusty camera hoping to take the best shot for another painting. Fortunately I have a bunch of photos so none of the above is necessary any longer. This oil painting is on Birch paneling that is mounted to a 6x6 inch varnished wooden box. (Sold)

Love those strong silhouettes against that gorgeous sky. Fantastic work!
Thank you Gwen.. There is so much to explore, so many ways of saying something... I love it...
Gerald, You are the master of skies. Could you tell me how you do your power lines? They are so thin and barely there, yet so important for the composition.
Thanks, Carol
Thank you Carol, I have a drafting pen that I load with thinned oil paint or a # 2 round brush... Its all part of my madness...
Wow Gerald, this is a gorgeous painting. The silhouettes are breathtaking. I too love powerlines. Happy painting.
Hello Tammy, thank you for your comments... Yes! power lines I feel give a human aspect to the paintings.. I really like them... Glade you feel the same.
LOVE IT!
Fun to do and just might turn this into a big canvas... Thanks Becky.
