Hi Gerald - and a very happy and productive new year to you! I must say this painting is a brave one. I would never have dared try it with those colours! However, can I say that the first version is the one I much prefer. Why? Well the first version has mood and feeling, those dark shadowy areas, those empty windows and seemingly empty rooms, all of which echoes some of your other stuff I see on the blog. I think what happened (as far as I am concerned anyway) is that you "added things" because it felt unfinished to you (I have done it so often myself) and the painting consequently lost some of the original feeling it had. At least that is my response. Of course others, including yourself, might feel differently. For me, the red chair is kind of spooky in the first version but loses that in the most recent one.

This is wonderful!
The additional are fantastic. I love the red roofed house. But its a tie as to which little thing I'm more intriqued by. Its between what is sitting under that window that the light is hitting or the electrical outlet witht its plugged in cord to....? LOVE IT!
I understand loving this form of expression. I did a very "pop art" painting of a coyote when I could once again climb the stairs to my studio after my heart attack. Its a wild paintitng that I adore.

Good morning to you Cara... How fun to get responses back.. I'm still looking at both of these.. It would be easy to darken it back down, maybe add more shadows... I will play later..Soo much fun.. Thanks to you all..
