"SANCTUARY" 8x6inch oil on wood

Back-bay and its wildlife preserve is truly a wonderful place to be. It is very much like a sanctuary not just for migrating birds, but for us humans that also need to stop and take a mental refuge amongst the waters, reeds, trees and flowers.... So much to learn here when one stops..
6x6 oil on Birch paneling that is mounted on a varnished wooden box: (SOLD)

Beautiful, beautiful! Those glowing blues contrasted with pink clouds make me smile. This scene reminds me of so many sunsets I've admired (and tried to paint) and so I feel very connected to the scene.

I'm there, enjoying the cool evening and trying to keep the bugs off.

Gerald, this is so well done, it really puts me in the scene. There is warm light on the distant hill, yet it recedes perfectly. Is that a hard thing to pull off? It is so effective and lovely. The twigs in the foreground are a wonderful element.

It was wonderful to have painted..
At this point in my life it is not difficult, but I must still be aware of my end result.
