The sounds of laughter and music field the air; then came the smells of popcorn,  hotdogs, and bbq.  I have visited this memory many times over the years, doing this painting had me return to my youth and a time gone by.  Hope you have good memories as well.

A disappearing happening of the big-top, circus, tent-show that would come into the heartland either by train or a caravan of trucks, find a field and set up a show of shows.     

"FREED AT LAST"

Just another angle and still exploring the shades of grays and the many moods they represent.   (For more on my black & whites) I must say, deciding on the placement of the balloon took a little time.  I knew I wanted red, but where to place it?  A little to the left a little to the right, higher, lower then finely, the balloon was freed at last.
