Gerald,
This is first rate....so simple, yet you captured the rolling wave and splashing sea spray to perfection!
Well done!

Thank you Kay,
I really enjoyed painting this one,I also remember standing on the rocks to get the shot and was glad to walk back off them as the waves where coming in and I don't swim..

Wonderful stark composition... very Japanese.

Love the idea of capturing the feel of a scene. I've been trying that more too, although I guess that's been a goal all along. But lately I've tried just painting from the memory as an experiment. It does tend to simplify it all.

Good afternoon Diana, You are correct,
"Simplify" is the key...Oh! I do tend to dig in and complicate my path..
Keep up the great work Diana..

Gerald - Can I tell you something odd? I have always been afraid of the ocean and this work, although beautiful, makes me uncomfortable...which ultimately means you have rendered it perfectly...
How's that for a left handed compliment? What can I say...I'm left handed...

Cara,
I too am afraid of the ocean. I never learned to swim ether, but I do love painting them... So from one left handed artist to another, I thank you.
