"RUSH HOUR"
I love to feel and hear the hum of a city at that magical of hours. The whole city changes, cell phones to ears, all exits jammed, elevators full, the sounds of high heels clicking in fast cadence, voices of hundreds of different languages all talking to loved ones, last minuet deals, secret rendezvouses, people at restaurants looking at who is coming in, bartenders waiting for the happy hour crowd, buses packed, taxi's taken, its "RUSH HOUR" 8x8 inch oil on box canvas. schwartzart@earthlink.net " in USA

"TAXI"
I think this was more difficult t photo then to paint.... My painting is more painterly in nature than how this photo looks, that being said, the painting is in fact, better then my photo.... So there you have it... Why I needed to make this clear was and is for me alone.... Maybe I'm breathing in to much fumes of turpentine after all these years.... The bottom line is, this was a fun painting to do... Oil on archival board mounted on a 6x6 inch deep varnished box. (Sold)

"MY ALLEY"
Tones, shapes and texture, that is what I wanted in this.. A time gone by, a place to remember or recall.. I find that most of us have seen or been or new of alleyways, small streets, quiet times, safe moments from the past... I have to add more to this, thanks to my artist friend Cara Romero... The alley's are almost gone from us. House's are squeezed in with walls, no porches, garages in the front with remotes so none of us get to wave and say "Hello" gone are the games that where played in the alley's.. I miss my alley.. 6x6 inch, oil, deep wooden varnished box. Holiday price, $125in the USA. (Sold)

"MORNING MIST"
Like a ghost the house begins to appear showing its dominants over the field. Soon the field will be filled with the sounds on tractors, children's voices, a dog barking somewheres in the tall grasses... But, for now, its just the quiet of the morning mist. 6x8 oil set on a deep varnished wooden box with no framing needed. For availability E-mail:schwartzart@earthlink.net

"THE FENCE"
The fence ran along the property line covering quite a large area. As I watched the last remaining light of the sun fade behind the clouds that closed in on the land this day I thought to myself "not even a fence can keep winters snow from coming in". My how I love nature. Oil on archival board mounted on a deep varnished wooden box. (Sold)

"SEASONS"
It is most fantastic to see and feel the rhythm of changes of the season. It was equally apropos and evident in the change of climate in this country and the world that most took part in. I welcome with open arms the change of the new. My ode to a new beginning in oils, 6x6 inch on archival board on a varnished wooden box. For availability E-mail:schwartzart@earthlink.net

"THE BAY"
As the sun was just about to go into hiding, with the warm breeze blowing a cold drink setting on the table next to me, I picked my camera up and took this departing shot for the evening.... Three years later and far, far from this magical of places, I return if only in my minds-eye..

"LONG WALK HOME"
Out on a back road in San Antonio I caught this as the sun was just about to drop out of the sky.
I have over a couple of years painted this scene and each time there is something new that I gain in the coloring and the application of the pigments.. I have painted this as a 74"x30 and now 6x8 inch and I must say I really like what took place this time in around with equal enthusiasm over the finished piece. Oil on archival board mounted on a deep varnished wooden box with no framing needed. (Sold)

"MED-DAY IN L.A."
After jumping out of the cab holding my trusty camera, I got one shot and ran inside for I was running late. The geometrics of the city has and always will be a fascination for me. The shadows against the walls has its own shapes leaving the negative space with its shape... I love it, what can I say.... Painted with oils on archival board mounted on a deep varnished wooden box measuring 6x6 inch. For availability E-mail:schwartzart@earthlink.net

"LAST SUMMER"
A more impressionistic view of a place I stayed this last summer... The friendships, good food, wine and a place I could call home are memories forever... The fact that I painted this with a much freer brushstroke is most symbolic of my time there. I did it without thinking, a real letting go, something I should do more off... What a fun thing to have presented itself to me...
Here is a 6x8 inch oil on archival board mounted on a deep finished box. Buy this now at $145

"STILL-LIFE & SHADOWS"
I wanted to return to still-life painting and at the same time keep my sky paintings as a recurring theme. I thought. "Why not paint the still-life casting a shadow on the sky". That way I keep each separate allowing the viewer to sense the whole as a composition in mood. I hope you enjoy these as much as I in painting them. Here is the forth in the series.

"EASTSIDE WESTSIDE U.S.A."
This wet and wintry street is a real place that I've been. Each of us has been there and know of this place, to stop at, to think about, to remember and feel.... Thus I gave it its name for its all of ours to claim and say I've been there too.
This is a 6"x8" oil on archival board mounted on a deep finished box with no framing required. (Sold)

We, the three of us parked the Duffy and went an had some snakes, drinks, good laughs then back to there house and continued the evening with a great barbecue, good wine as always and that finished off my evening, I then looked forward to the painting of it. "MURAL PROJECT"
This was painted at the Laguna Beach art show that you have heard me talk so much about... Here is one of many projects that came up. This one I had to get involved with for it seamed apprapo for our effort at the DP this coming month.... This is a 12' long by 5' high mural on canvas that was a collaborative effort of four artists from the show..... I was asked if I would work on this and I said "yes" without knowing what it was about, but I thought it would be fun to do with three other artists on this one mural and four artists on another ... My team painted this one that you see in 4 hours... I painted the sky first then we each jumped in and did something to pull this off.... Dagmar came up with the planets, Bruce the grasslands, Shockley the dragonfly's... We danced around never disturbing the efforts of the other..... There were no egos so everyone could make a mark, add a color, take over if one got side tracked and always kept in mind what this was about " The Children & The Planet" This entire project was filmed and in the end some 5200 murals totaling 12 miles will be wrapped around a pyramid in Egypt in 2010.. This project is for the ( www.the-art-miles-mural-project.org ) Take a look and get involved, for we each pass through here only once.
