Wanting to capture a feeling of nostalgia I painted this as a sepia photograph. I first made a deep burnt umber to get it as dark as possible and still keep the rich reddish shade. I then tinted the white with this mix which allowed me all the middle tones needed to make it work. It was at this point the painting began.
