"BACK COUNTRY"

(SOLD)
One of the few more impressionistic paintings that I've done in a long time. I will be posting more like this in the next coming weeks.... It feels good after coming off one of my realistic canvases to get loser. Painting this confirms my love of what I do on a daily bases. Oil on a gessoed clay board mounted on a finished 6"x6" wooden box.

I like how you are still experimenting with your technique! I must admit though, I like when you paint a more realism style, like the tide pool. Both are wonderful! I do understand how we all need to venture out of our comfort zones. :) I like to think it makes us better artist. Yes?

As a displaced, but nevertheless Native Californian, I think this impressionistic canvas represents California colors better than some of your more "realistic" ones! Very handsome.
