"HOMAGE TO THE MOON"

Still with a chill in the morning air, mist still hugging the ground, I made my way down Jackrabbit Rd. and with the quiet, took one shot with my trusty camera, back to the house, up-load the image, and did this painting... "THE PARK"

Painting fog or I should say, doing a painting that looks out of focus is and has been a real interest for me.. Soft focus, I do love the challenge. 6x6 inch oil that has been mounted on a varnished wooden box. (Sold)

"ELOQUENCE"

My last day in the high country and the magic of light gave me one parting crescendo as I made my way back to the warmth of my van and waiting friends. My fascination with light and how to capture it is what drives me to paint. Ninety percent of the time I choose light that is racing at me at a little over 186,00 miles per second into my eyes. The subject in most cases is secondary. Oh! I can see the composition of what I’m choosing, but the light and all of its subtlety’s of colors that move over, around and past objects, thats what captures my attention. Using the smallest of brush’s, I just want to stop the light and say hello, how you do-in. This painting is on archival board mounted on a 6x8 inch varnished wooden box with no framing required. $140

"QUIETNESS OF THOUGHT"

After a long deliberation on this I added the skiff, and for me, it made all the difference in how I want to see this painting. There are not to many things in life that we can go back and change, so when the opportunity arises, I have no qualms about it or sharing. So! I'm posting it again. This must be the third time I have painted this location, and each time, I find something new.. Paintings journey is both the subject and the journey within, each gives of itself... "A NEW DAY"

With hope on the horizon and the prayers of a nation, we go forth into a new day.. I look at what is finely taking place in my country, in our country and I must cheer. It is easy to fall into darkness but takes greater strength to look and believe that we shall overcome. The fact that so many artists have stayed in the creative process is a message to all that come to “The Daily Painters.” We give those that visit, a chance to dance amongst our colors of dreams and so! It is all the more a reason for all to keep what we do as the light into the future.

Just a thank you from me to my fellow artists.

"BOBBLE HEAD AT 2:32 AM"

Funny how somethings catch your eye, particularly when your tiered and you can just set back , leave the driving to a stranger, with no obligation to make small conversation to no conclusion. This is just one of those moments. I was caught by the abstraction of the rain, mist, and condensation on the windshield of my ride to the hotel. Sleepily and happily I was able to let my mind drift to the nondescript humming of the driver. After a time of just staring at the bobble head I knew, here is my next painting. Putting my camera up to an already blurry eye , I click off one shot just in time as my ride ends pulling up to the hotel and long awaiting sleep.

"MY ALLEY"

Tones, shapes and texture, that is what I wanted in this.. A time gone by, a place to remember or recall.. I find that most of us have seen or been or new of alleyways, small streets, quiet times, safe moments from the past... I have to add more to this, thanks to my artist friend Cara Romero... The alley's are almost gone from us. House's are squeezed in with walls, no porches, garages in the front with remotes so none of us get to wave and say "Hello" gone are the games that where played in the alley's.. I miss my alley.. 6x6 inch, oil, deep wooden varnished box. Holiday price, $125in the USA. (Sold)
